Utada Hikaru

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! Well, I was thinking. I like english song writers and bands, whatever. So, I wanted to profile someone else. I was thinking of a pop star who is on Japans top 10 song artists.

Hikaru Utada

Hikaru, also known as `Hikki`, was born and raised in New York, 1983. She was raised in a musical backround, since its NY, and has had many achievements. It all started with her single `Time will Tell, which registered on numerous FM charts more than a month before Utada Hikaru's official debut "Automatic." Born and raised in New York, “Hikki” has music in her blood: her parents are music producer Teruzane Utada, and Junko Utada, who in the 1970s was one of Japan's top singers, under the name of Keiko Fuji.

Interesting things about `Hikki`

Hobbies: Literature, spicy stuffs, photography and web-surfing.
Specialties: Touch typing, Tetris, biting the bullet, reading minds, moving just the smallest toe of my left foot, full leg splits and other instances of flexibility.

Metric

New Section is Music, bands, singers ect. So...... Todays profile is on.....

Metric

Metric is a band that plays indie rock, indie pop and New Wave. The band has four members. Emily Haines on vocals and the bands synthesizer, James Shaw for guitarist, then Josh Winstead as the bassist and Joules Scott-Key as drummer guy.

Emily Haines`s talent sort of runs in the family. Her father, Paul Haines, is a so called well-known canadian poet, and her sister is a canadian television journalist, Avery Haines. Her brother, Tim Haines owns Bluestreak Records in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, but if you ask me, people should set their sights a little higher than owner of a music store. She was born in New Delhi, India, and raised in Canada. Her father often made musical and inspiring songs, and soul inspiring art. Her young influences were Carla Bley, Robert Wyatt and PJ Harvey.

Now, theres alot more people who don`t know about her, but it would take up way too much time and effort to research, so go on a site like wikipedia or something. I was just giving some backround stuff.

Metric is a very well performed band, and they could start a new techno thing. Techno indie band.... That`s setting your sights high!

Seed

This is a game about mutating flowers. Like, theres a flower with cubes on it, and I mixed it with a sunflower, and it got mutated. It's like Frankenstein meets Mother Earth. If you're a scientist or a hippy, you'll love this game. It`s on i-am-bored.com.

Cupcakes, Cupcakes, and More Cupcakes

Well, I was thinking. How was the cupcake created? Was someone eating a piece of cake, and it fell into a cup? Or was it some genious who wanted some cake, but wanted it smaller, and baked little miniature cakes somehow? How were cupcake trays invented, or frosting? I find cupcakes to be a very mysterious thing. It is very hard to think about. Maybe they were invented by pioneers, or natives? Well, that was probably impossible, cause all the natives had were spears, rocks and herbs. AND NO OUTHOUSES! But this is not about the natives, this is about the mysteries of cupcakes and cupcake cooking utensils.

So, when you think about thinks like the future, or what it would be like to be rich, or what happens when you die, you will regret not thinking about cupcakes, because it is indeed a brain teasing subject.

SO START THINKING!!!!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Hi! Today, I found a cool Red Velvet cupcake recipe you can try. I got this recipe off of the internet. Just saying it wasn't my own.

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

2 cups sugar

1/2 cup cocoa(powdered)

1 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

2 sticks butter(room temperature)

5 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk( If you don't have buttermilk, use 1 tbsp. of lemon juice or white vinegar, and put it in a measuring cup. Then fill the cup up to the 1 cup mark with milk.)

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. red food colouring

Preperation:

Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl. Then, sift the dry ingredients 3 times to make sure there are no little clumps.

Cream the butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy. Add one egg at a time, and beat the mixture well after each egg.

Then add 1/4 of the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, then approximately 1/4 of the buttermilk, alternating until mixed well. Then, mix in the vanilla and food colouring.

Fill the cups 1/2 way full with the red velvet mixture, then bake at a 350 degree oven for approximately 20 minutes. Then insert a toothpick in the cake to make sure it comes out clean. If not, bake it for about 3-5 extra minutes.

Remove the cupcakes from the oven, and let them cool for 5-10 minutes in the trays. Then, pop them out and let them complete cooling on a wire rack before frosting them.

If you tried out this recipe, I hope you enjoyed them!

Vegan Chocolate-Mint Cake

Now, a few hours ago, my sister let me do a picture for her Face Book. It was the red haired pigtailed freak on the Wendys sign, except I made her look blood-stained and murderous. And it was very goury. And mean, because my sister is going vegetarian. AND, I put the quote beside my picture:

Restaurant,
or
Slaughter House?

So it was very mean and unvegetarian. Because I respect her personal beliefs. And also because she did a gut pincer on me after dinner, which made acid come up my mouth a tad, because I was not complete digesting. And the main fact was that it hurt. I mean for a cripple/handicap/old man, she sure does hurt! So I was searching on YouTube for a vegan dessert. And I indeed found one.

The New Pornographers

Heylo! I was doing a little profile hunt on The New Pornographers. Cause I like them, and it would be cool to have a mini bio on them, so here it goes!

The New Pornographers lead singer, Carl Newman, actually got the band name from a japanese film called The Pornographers, which came out in 1966, by Shohei Imamura. The original name was Erogotoshitachi yori Jinruigaku nyumon, which means An Introduction to Anthropology through The Pornographers. The story is about a porn filmmaker, Mr. Ogata, whose buisness is under threat by a bunch of thieves, as well as the government, and even his own loving family.

Carl Newman was a member of the bands Superconductor and Zumpano, which they performed indie rock. But after the break-up of those bands, he reemerged as Carl Newman, the leader of a canadian pop band, The New Pornographers. He also released a solo album, but he was known as A.C. Newman.

Great profiling with you!
